THE GREAT VIGIL OF EASTER

March 30, 2024
8:30 PM Liturgy @ St. Mark's Cathedral, Seattle (In-Person and Virtual)
The GREAT VIGIL OF EASTER is the central and most important liturgy in the Christian calendar.  It is the time when we celebrate the new light of creation in the Resurrection of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.  During this liturgy we hear with dramatic awe the coming of the Christ as found in the Old Testament.  Then we celebrate with great joy those who give their lives to God through the waters of Holy Baptism.  Finally, we celebrate the first Eucharist of Easter with heart-pounding jubilation with the breaking open of the now empty tomb...  CHRIST IS RISEN!!  THE LORD IS RISEN INDEED!!  ALLELUIA!!! Then the liturgy then spills out into the parish hall where a feast awaits those who are celebrating.  Come join us for an Easter party and celebration you will never forget!

We acknowledge that we are on the traditional homelands of the Puyallup Tribe. The Puyallup people have lived on and stewarded these lands since the beginning of time, and continue to do so today. We recognize that this land acknowledgement is one small step toward true allyship and we commit to uplifting the voices, experiences, and histories of the Indigenous people of this land and beyond.
