Canvass 2023

Welcome to our Canvass page!  Our annual Canvass Pledge Drive seeks to gather Pledges to fulfill our Operating expenses and obligations in the coming year.  Through a lot of hard work, our Operating expenses have become relatively fixed at somewhere between $225,000-$240,000 annually.  Our goal this year is to have all of our Operating expenses and obligations covered with pledges and special gifts so we can free up our fundraising efforts for Outreach and Evangelism.

St. Matthew has proven that by trusting God’s guidance and living into the Holy Spirit, miracles do happen.  We’ve also proven that through financial wellness, the parish is free to creatively engage what God would have us to do without distraction or desperation.  Like Public Radio, your pledge makes it all possible.

If you currently Pledge, please consider thinking of your pledge as a Proportional Gift by reviewing the Guide to Proportional Giving.  This allows us to challenge the rut that flat-rate giving can have in limiting our ability to respond to God’s call as God’s Stewards.  If you do not currently Pledge, please consider doing so.  The Good that the parish does in Building the Kingdom of God is a “many hands effort”.  It is our collective effort in stretching into God’s call that makes all things possible at St. Matthew.  If you believe in God’s grace and goodness and if you believe St. Matthew is a place that reflects God’s love, then prayerful Pledging is right for you.

Please know, members of the Vestry and the Canvass Team are always available for questions and comments. Thank you for making your pledge today to St. Matthew!

We acknowledge that we are on the traditional homelands of the Puyallup Tribe. The Puyallup people have lived on and stewarded these lands since the beginning of time, and continue to do so today. We recognize that this land acknowledgement is one small step toward true allyship and we commit to uplifting the voices, experiences, and histories of the Indigenous people of this land and beyond.
