Life Transitions

Birth of a Child
There are few greater joys in life than the birth of a child.  If you are expecting a child, come share your joy with us!  Prayers for a safe delivery as well as pastoral care following the birth are always offered, encouraged and available.  Please contact the clergy for more information.

Holy Baptism
Following the example set in our Lord's own baptism, Holy Baptism, administered by water in the name of the Holy Trinity, is the rite by which people become members of the Body of Christ, the Church.  If you or someone you know is interested in becoming baptized, please review the Holy Baptism guidelines and contact the clergy for more information.

Weddings
For centuries, Holy Matrimony has been a chief icon of God's desire to be one with us through Christ.  In the marriage rite, two people figuratively reenact the Church being united to Christ in Holy Baptism.   If you are considering taking the vows of Holy Matrimony, please contact the clergy as you begin planning your journey with Christ together.

Ministry at the Time of Death
We at St. Matthew take very seriously the ministry to those who have died as well as the ministry to the survivors of death.  If you are planning the burial of a loved one or are taking the highly suggested step of pre-planning your own burial arrangements, please review our burial guidelines, Memorial Garden policy, as well as the recommended scriptural readings of the burial liturgy. For all questions please contact the clergy who is eager to assist you.

If you wish to have your burial plans on file at the parish, please fill in the Life Transition Pre-Planning Guide and give it to the clergy.  Information about Planned Giving can be found here.

We acknowledge that we are on the traditional homelands of the Puyallup Tribe. The Puyallup people have lived on and stewarded these lands since the beginning of time, and continue to do so today. We recognize that this land acknowledgement is one small step toward true allyship and we commit to uplifting the voices, experiences, and histories of the Indigenous people of this land and beyond.
