Upcoming Event on April 3, 2025: History of the Sacred Land at Browns Point and Dash Point
The history of Indigenous lands in our country is complex and controversial. How the Puyallup Tribal Land in Northeast Tacoma was developed is not only interesting, but important to understand.
The parishioners at St. Matthew Episcopal Church at Browns Point, Tacoma invite the neighboring communities of Browns Point and Dash Point to learn more about the history and various activities on this land. On April 3, 2025 from 6:30-8:30 PM at St.
Matthew Church we will hear from Brandon Reynon, Puyallup Tribe Historic Preservation Officer and Tribal member. Janet Dillon Klumas, an Indigenous Peoples lawyer who lives in the Tacoma area and has worked with the Puyallup Tribe, will add an  interchange with Brandon.

St. Matthew Episcopal Church has been serving God within The Puyallup Tribe of Indians Reservation and in the neighborhood of Browns Point, Dash Point, Northeast Tacoma and Federal Way since 1951. Although we have been here a while, we are a mixed band of neighbors and sojourners who enjoy discovering how God is found in our lives and in the world.
