Land Acknowledgement

We acknowledge that we are on the traditional homelands of the Puyallup Tribe. The Puyallup people have lived on and stewarded these lands since the beginning of time, and continue to do so today. We recognize that this land acknowledgement is one small step toward true allyship and we commit to uplifting the voices, experiences, and histories of the Indigenous people of this land and beyond.

Welcome to the neighborhood...

Thank you for visiting our website. St. Matthew Episcopal Church has been serving God within The Puyallup Tribe of Indians Reservation and in the neighborhood of Browns Point, Dash Point, Northeast Tacoma and Federal Way since 1951. Although we have been here a while, we are a mixed band of neighbors and sojourners who enjoy discovering how God is found in our lives and in the world. Every week, we gather to share stories, break bread and listen. If you are seeking a place to belong and grow, come and see. You just might find that being a neighbor is a gift that lasts a lifetime and beyond!

Our Mission...

To be a church that passionately embraces and values all people, growing in the love of Christ through word and action.

Creating a Legacy:
Real Estate Donations -  If you are interested in donating land, a house, or some commercial property (where ever it may be) to St. Matthew to endow our ministries for generations to come, please contact Fr. Haynes (fatherkendall@gmail.com). Discover the many ways such a donation can benefit you and your family while ensuring St. Matthew remains a vital presence for love in our neighborhood!

Planned Giving & Estate Planning – Is St. Matthew in your will or trust?  If not, contact Barney Hartley (barneyhartley@yahoo.com) for more information on how to make a Legacy Gift to the parish while creating tax benefits for your heirs.  You can also visit our Planned Giving webpage at https://www.neighborhoodparish.org/planned-giving.html.  You’ll be surprised how a little planning can make a HUGE DIFFERENCE!
